CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the above position that has arisen at ICAZ
1. Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the ICAZ Council, of which he or she is an ex-officio member, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the overall leadership and strategic management of the Institute.  The Chief Executive Officer is an ex-officio member of all committees of ICAZ.

Key Responsibilities include:-

1.1. Stakeholder relations and corporate governance.

1.1.1 Establish and develop relations and regular communication with all stakeholders in order to ensure mutual understanding of expectations, enhance the institute’s visibility and create a positive image.
1.1.2 Establish, maintain and improve governance standards to facilitate ethical and efficient business practices that comply with all laws and regulations.

1.2. Institute’s strategy and performance standards

1.2.1  Develop, review and recommend for Council approval the Institute’s policies, strategies and action plans that guide the efficient and effective delivery of the Institute’s products and services.
1.2.2 Define and recommend performance standards for Council approval and translate these into individual performance contracts for key subordinates in line with approved strategies and plans.

1.3. Performance measurement, reporting and management

1.3.1 Establish an efficient and timely performance measurement and reporting system to inform Council, members and other stakeholders of the Institute’s performance with respect to its strategies and action plans.
1.3.2 Evaluate performance of staff and take appropriate action to ensure compliance with performance standards.
1.3.3 Oversee and ensure timely implementation of all resolutions of Council.

2. Qualifications and Experience

• Appropriate university degree and appropriate post graduate qualification, preferably Chartered Accountant (Zimbabwe).
• A postgraduate qualification in management for non Chartered Accountants (Zimbabwe) is a pre-requisite.
• Track record of a successful executive and leader with at least 15 years of progressively responsible experience, at least 5 years of which is at executive management. Proven strategic planning, change management, project management, financial management and human resources management skills.
• Proven negotiating and diplomatic skills.
• Excellent personal integrity with high standards of ethical conduct.
An appropriate and negotiable remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.  Applicants are free to indicate their minimum expectations, if they so wish.
