ICAZ to host an update seminar on IFRS


 

 

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe will host an update seminar on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) on Tuesday 27 September 2011 at Holiday Inn.

International Financial Reporting Standards are accounting standards issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).

The seminar will focus on New and Revised Accounting Standards affecting 2011 reporting, Clarified Auditing Standards and Deferred Tax changes.

Since listed companies in Zimbabwe are required to publish their abridged interim and year end financial statements in the press, the seminar will also look at press release requirements and common errors on financial statements.

Notable presenters will include Ernst & Young Partner David Marange, KPMG Senior Manager-Audit Valerie Muyambo, and PricewaterhouseCoopers Senior Manager- Audit Andrew Vere.

In addition, Chartered Accountants Academy Director, Anesu Daka and Tumai Mafunga who is a Partner at Deloitte will present and facilitate respectively.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe is one of the major accounting bodies in Africa and is a full member of International Federation of Accountants and Central (IFAC), Southern African Federation of Accountants (ECSAFA) and the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA).

ICAZ aims to enhance the International standing and recognition of the qualification Chartered Accountant (Zimbabwe), for the benefit of its members, to support them in providing quality services in the public interest

The institute also seeks to be the pre-eminent professional body in the development and promotion of accountancy, assurance and advisory services, business and good governance practices.

Professionals, who practice as Auditors, Accountants, Tax Advisors, Directors, Analysts and finance statements preparers interested individuals to attend the seminar
