The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe will be hosting its end of year Christmas Dinner on 2 December at Pandhari Lodge under the theme, Business Fundamentals: A Key to Corporate Stability and Growth.

In a statement, the ICAZ CEO, Matts Kunaka said it was important for the business community to adhere to proper fundamentals such as practising good corporate governance for sustainable corporate growth.

Ecobank Zimbabwe Limited Managing Director Mr. Dan Sackey will be the guest speaker on the day. Dan has worked and risen through the ranks in the Ecobank Group for over a decade. He held senior positions within Ecobank in some parts of the continent such as Ghana, Togo and Rwanda. He is also the Cluster Head for the group within the SADC region.

He holds a Masters in Business Administration, with specialisation in International Banking and Finance, from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Administration (Accounting Option), from the School of Administration, University of Ghana, Legon.

The Institute is encouraging its members to attend the event for it is envisaged to be an appropriate platform to cross-pollinate ideas and share experiences accrued during the year.

ICAZ is one of the major accounting bodies in Africa and is a full member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), Eastern, Central and Southern African Federation of Accountants (ECSAFA) and the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA). ICAZ aims to enhance the International standing and recognition of the qualification Chartered Accountant (Zimbabwe), for the benefit of its members, to support them in providing quality services in the public interest. The institute also seeks to be the pre-eminent professional body in the development and promotion of accountancy, assurance and advisory services, business and good governance practices. It is the largest accounting professional body in Zimbabwe.
